United States seem to want an approach to a solution to the Cyprus issue thus avoiding a new appeal in the UN

Cold war ideologies and the formulation of national narratives in Cyprus

Valid journalistically sources in New York report that United States are in favour of an approach to a solution to the Cyprus issue.
In the last Greek appeal in the UN, United States were cornered from both sides, the British and the Greeks. Although the Americans don't seem to want to take an initiative on the matter, they clearly suggest that the approach to the solution from both sides should not be "public". Moreover, the American public opinion is still interested in the Cyprus issue.
On the other hand the British are still adherent in the promotion/introduction of a constitution in Cyprus, therefore amplify the Cypriots fight for freedom and self-determination.
