Abstract

The writer points out the Greek Orthodox Church as the main instigator of Megalo-Idea. He says that the fate of Greece has always been controlled by the Church. The assertions of Greeks over Cyprus has been defeated by the United Nations, however the Megalo-Idea has been re-manifested in new ways and dominated by the Church.
